Cyso Cloud featured as a European alternative on European Purpose

A year ago, searching for a European alternative to AWS mostly got you more AWS. The whole shelf was American, and "European" usually meant an American data centre with a Dutch postcode.

That's changing, and independent directories are leading it. European Purpose is one of them: a curated catalogue of privacy-first European alternatives to the mainstream tech stack, built for organisations who've decided that where their tools come from actually matters. And they've now listed us.

Cyso Cloud featured as a European alternative on European Purpose

What the listing says

European Purpose features Cyso Cloud in Cloud Computing as a European alternative to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Scaleway and OVH. Their summary, in their words: a "100% Dutch, OpenStack-based cloud platform with Managed Kubernetes, S3-compatible object storage, and load balancers."

The tags they attached are the ones we'd have picked ourselves: EU-based in the Netherlands, GDPR compliant, EU-only data sovereignty, an open-source foundation, ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certified, usage-based pricing, no vendor lock-in.

Why an independent listing matters

Anyone can call themselves sovereign on their own homepage. We do too. The difference is that a third party, cataloguing European options for people who care about them, put Cyso on the shortlist. That's more useful to a buyer than another line of our own marketing.

It also matters for how people find providers now. When someone asks a search engine, or increasingly an AI assistant, "what are the European alternatives to AWS," directories like this are where the answer gets built. Being listed there isn't a vanity badge. It's how a genuinely European cloud provider gets surfaced to the people looking for exactly that.

See for yourself

The listing is a good starting point. The platform is a better one. If you're weighing a move off a US hyperscaler, start with the direct comparison:
