Frequently Asked Question about Cloud networking

Estimated time to read: 2 minutes

Find solutions to common networking challenges and questions about Cyso Cloud's network infrastructure. This section addresses everything from IP address management and security configurations to connectivity troubleshooting and port restrictions. Whether you're setting up floating IPs, configuring security groups, managing routers and networks, or troubleshooting connection issues, these frequently asked questions will help you understand and optimize your cloud networking setup. We've also included important information about default security policies and port restrictions to help you maintain secure and accessible cloud infrastructure.

Can I reassign a pubic IP address to another instance/server?

No, it is not possible to reassign a public fixed IP address. Please use Floating IPs instead.

Can I reserve my own IP range?

Currently not, you can create several floating IPs and if you do not delete them they will be reserved for your account.

Does Cyso Cloud support IPv6?

Yes, you can use direct attached IPv6 addresses for your instances.

Does Security Groups behave as least restrictive or most restrictive?

Security Groups behave as least restrictive (ALLOW over BLOCK). This means that if you have configured Security Groups with conflicting rules the Security Group with the least restrictive rule will be active.

I can not delete my router?

Make sure that you have disconnect all active ports assigned.

I can not delete my network?

Before you can delete the network make sure that you deleted your router first. A network can only be deleted when there are no active ports assigned to it. Disconnect all related ports form all servers first.

I can not ping / SSH / reach my instance remotely?

Please verify if you have configured the required security group rules to allow inbound traffic.

Which ports are blocked by Cyso Cloud?

Because of security reasons, we block port 25 (SMTP) for outgoing traffic.

You can't change that. However, it is possible to use port 465 or port 587 instead. It is also possible to use an external mail gateway to send traffic out from your mail server. Incoming mail using port 25 is not a problem and is allowed.

You can always check with our sister company Hosting.NL (formerly SQR.nl) for (email) hosting solutions.

Or maybe you were looking for a related question: Which ports are open/closed in the default security group?

Which ports are open/closed in the default security group?

By default all inbound traffic originating from the public internet is blocked. To allow inbound traffic add an additional ingress rule to the "default" security group or create your own security group.
